Weston graduated in 2009 from Georgia State University with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in Political Science. He then pursued a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law (Mercer Law School), graduating in 2013 with his Juris Doctorate.

In the Fall of 2013, Weston was admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia. Upon admittance, Weston opened his law firm, The Law Office of Weston Maffit LLC, in his hometown of Covington, GA. Although The Law Office of Weston Maffit, LLC is now located in Monroe, GA, Weston continues to serve Newton County and all of the areas surrounding Newton and Walton County.
